poem
Good things grow
A short poem about growth in imperfect conditions.
Behind this piece
About
A very short reflection on resilience and emergence.
This poem came from noticing that growth rarely happens under ideal conditions. More often, life unfolds in imperfect environments—through limitation, uncertainty, interruption, and ordinary messiness.
Even so, good things still grow.
Insight
For a long time I thought growth required the right conditions.
Enough certainty. Enough healing. Enough discipline. Enough readiness.
But over time I've found that some of the most meaningful things in my life emerged long before everything felt stable.
Relationships deepened while life remained uncertain. Creativity appeared in seasons that felt dry. New ways of being emerged before I felt prepared for them.
There is something deeply hopeful in remembering that life does not wait for perfection before it begins.
Dust and stone are not always obstacles.
Sometimes they become part of what nourishes us.
