A poetry collection
Unbecoming
A collection of poems about loss, longing, identity, and the slow remembering of who we are beneath everything we've learned to be.
"These poems were written through a season of profound unraveling—through grief, hope, love, uncertainty, and the disorientation of becoming someone I did not yet know how to be."
— Bryce
About the collection
This book is a path. My path.
These poems were not intended to be a collection. They emerged one by one, from inside my life as it was unfolding. Expressions of my experience. While there was no singular creative focus guiding the writing, the underlying theme became clearer with time: a process of my own unbecoming.
They remain in chronological order because I wanted to preserve that unfolding honestly—the movement forward and backward, the clarity and contradiction, the moments of breaking open followed by moments of closing again.
Transformation rarely happens cleanly.

When read on their own, these poems hold individual moments: grief, longing, hope, anger, surrender, remembrance. When read together, they trace something larger—a record of losing what no longer fit and slowly discovering what remained beneath it.
The path is mine.
But I don't think the questions belong only to me.
Read & support
Why a book if the poems are free?

Every poem in Unbecoming is freely available to read on this website. I believe knowledge, wisdom, and creative expression become more valuable when they can be encountered, shared, and carried forward—not when access to them is restricted.
And yet, the book offers something different.
It arranges the individual poems into the shape of the broader journey: chronologically ordered, raw, and honest. But also carefully designed and meant to be experienced as a whole. It offers something to hold, revisit, annotate, give away, or return to when a particular part of the journey calls you back.
Purchasing Unbecoming is also one of the primary ways you can support my work right now. That support helps give me the time and resources to continue creating—and to keep freely sharing much of what I make.

Every ending offers another beginning
Unbecoming does not end after the final page. These poems come from a life still unfolding, and the questions within them continue to unfold with it. You are invited to follow these threads with me beyond the collection—to explore the poems, discover more of the story behind them, and encounter what continues to grow from here.
