All for love

This poem explores the mystery of love without attempting to define it.

Moving through possibility rather than certainty, it reflects on the many ways love can be understood: as wholeness, as shared brokenness, as presence, as purpose, or simply as the deepest affirmation of existence itself.

Rather than arriving at a prescriptive answer, it chooses a personal principle.

This poem came from realizing that I no longer needed to answer every philosophical question before deciding how I wanted to live.

For much of my life, I felt driven to understand reality as accurately as I could. I still value that search deeply. But over time I began to notice that certain questions seemed less interested in being solved than in shaping the way I participated in the world.

The repeated “Perhaps” is intentional. It is a way of respecting uncertainty while preserving my freedom to make meaning and choose the values that orient my life.

Rather than building an argument, the poem offers a series of possibilities. Some of them may be true. All of them may be incomplete. The point isn't to eliminate uncertainty, but to notice that uncertainty does not prevent us from making meaningful choices.

The final line is the one that has stayed with me:

“So it's all for love I claim”

Not because I can prove that everything is ultimately rooted in love.

But because, if I must choose the principle by which I orient my life, love is the one I want to wager on.

Perhaps that's what faith has become for me.

Not certainty.

But choosing, again and again, to live as though love is worth building a life around.
